THE PLAYER'S GUIDE
About Spirits
Spirits sends a wizard into a castle adventure where finding your way matters as much as firing magic. Its divided display gives exploration an unusual rhythm: watch your immediate surroundings while keeping a larger purpose in view. Choose it for a first session built around navigation, magical tools, and connected objectives.
The game
Two castles, several tasks
The adventure spans two connected castles. Your quest involves a power wand that can release a princess, a sacred book that removes an enchantment from armor, and a giant eagle that must be destroyed. These are distinct tasks within the same expedition, giving your search more structure than simply reaching an exit.
Magic and machinery
The wizard can jump, crouch, climb stairs, and launch magical bolts. Levers and traps also play a part, so moving through the castles means paying attention to their mechanisms as well as their passages. The combination gives you several ways to engage with a room before moving onward.

The MSX edition
This is the Spanish-language MSX edition of Topo Soft’s castle adventure.
Start here
- Enter the adventure
Hold Space briefly during the credits to begin, rather than relying on a quick tap. In this player, the arrow keys provide movement and Space handles actions.
- Read both views
Locate your wizard in the upper display, then inspect the lower display: at the beginning, it shows the crystal orb’s location. Make that your first destination.
- Recheck your guide
Once you collect the orb, look below again. That display now tracks quest objectives, changing its role from helping you find the first item to guiding the broader adventure.
Original controls
These are the original game's controls. For keyboard, controller and touch settings in this player, see Controls & help.
- O / P / Q / A
- O moves left; P moves right; Q jumps or moves up; A crouches or moves down.
- Space
- Action.
Playing tips
- Build a route in your head
Remember the passages connecting areas as you explore. A useful item may give you a reason to return somewhere you have already visited.
- Inspect before committing
Pause to examine a lever and nearby traps before acting. Treat castle machinery as something to understand, especially when a route looks hazardous.
- Change your approach
If a direct approach stalls, consider your movement options before repeatedly firing. A jump, a crouch, or a stairway may offer a more useful next move.
