About Gates of Dawn
The player controls a knight who must discover the secret of the ghost. To do this, four items must be collected - iron, stone, fire and ice - so that they can get through the Gates of Dawn. These objects are scattered throughout the maze. The labyrinth consists of 64 rooms, which are displayed in a 3D view. The rooms are usually full of monsters.
As the player navigates between rooms, a map at the top right of the screen shows their progress. An arrow below indicates the direction of view, and it is up to the player to keep track of this arrow later in the game.
Players start the game with five lives, a strength of 10,000, and a sword. The player either loses power or one of their lives when touching certain monsters. The game ends when the player loses all life or power.
